How fast can I file chapter 7 bankruptcy?

This depends on how quickly all documentation and information is given to your attorney to complete the Chapter 7 petition. At our initial meeting we will discuss your financial situation with you and determine whether or not you would qualify to file bankruptcy and whether bankruptcy is your best option.

If we decide to move forward with a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you will sign a written fee agreement, and you will receive mandatory notices that must be read by any consumer that decides to file bankruptcy.

You will also be given a list of further needed documentation for us to prepare your petition. Many times after the first meeting you can send all documentation via email, fax, or U.S. Mail to our office.

Once we have everything from you the petition and credit counseling certificate can usually be ready for you to review and sign prior to filing within a couple weeks. It can usually be arranged to only have to meet in person with the attorney as little as two times prior to the Chapter 7 filing.
