Been Sued By Palisades For An Old Debt? Fight Back By Reading This Article

We know it is very disturbing to be sued by some "debt buyer" such as Palisades. When this happens, you should consider several things:

First, read our article entitled "I've Been Sued - What Should I Do? ".

Second, Palisade's whole business model is suing hundreds and hundreds of Alabama residents with at least 90% not answering the lawsuits and defaulting. Therefore, Palisades in our experience does not typically bring the witnesses and documents it needs to prove its case. To use an illustration, Palisades is like a country that starts wars, expects the other country to surrender, and is not normally prepared to fight the war. If you are being sued, you might as well fight back if you don't owe the debt, if Palisades can't prove it owns the debt, or if (as is often the case) Palisades has sued after the statute of limitations has expired.

Third, if you win your trial (either at the actual trial or Palisades gives up beforehand) then you need to correct your credit reports. Read this article for ideas. For an example of a lawsuit that we have filed based upon Palisades refusing to correct the credit report, click here .
