For Ocwen — Where do I send a request for information or notice of error?

For Ocwen — Where do I send a request for information or notice of error?

For Ocwen -- Where do I send a request for information or notice of error?Under the new RESPA laws as of January 10, 2014, we have the ability to send a “request for information” or “notice of error” to our mortgage company.

If you have Ocwen Loan Servicing, LLC, then you can look on the front or back of your mortgage bill and you will find the address to send these types of notices.

You can also go to the Ocwen website.

You always must verify the address but as of now it looks like this is the address to use:

Ocwen Loan Servicing, LLC

Research Department

PO Box 24736

West Palm Beach, Florida 33416-4736

These notices (including a QWR — Qualified Written Request) don’t do you any good if you don’t send to the correct address.

When you do send to the right address, however, they are very powerful.

What will the notice on my mortgage statement or the website say about the address?

It will typically say something like this:

For qualified written requests, notice of errors
and requests for information please write to the following address and include your full name and loan number.

Research P.O. Box 24736
West Palm Beach, FL 33416-4736

Ocwen does say on their website you can submit a claim online.  I would be very careful as you run the risk Ocwen will argue that a web form or web submitted notice of error or request for information is invalid.

I know, crazy right?  They give you this option but then may argue you didn’t follow the law so they don’t have to process it?

Well, if you have dealt with Ocwen or know anything about them, this won’t shock you.  It may work out for you or may not — my suggestion is stick with mailing actual letters in to the write address.

This is good information there are a lot of complaints about this company. The list is unbelievable about the way Ocwen does business” .

That’s true Jeff. Ocwen seems to do business in a way that is poor even for mortgage servicing standards…. Have a great day and thanks for the comment!
