Alabama Foreclosure: What Is My Mortgage?

Alabama Foreclosure:  What Is My Mortgage?

What Is My Mortgage?Your mortgage is simply the document that ties the debt, the note, to your property.  It is what makes your loan a “secured” loan, not an unsecured loan.

Your mortgage will list requirements that you must follow and that the mortgage company must follow.  Here are some examples:

  • When your payment is due
  • The legal description of the property
  • What happens if you don’t pay your house payment
  • How a foreclosure will work
  • What you can do in court if you think a wrongful foreclosure is about to happen

We often see mortgage companies violate the mortgage, especially as you get into the foreclosure stage, so it is important to take the time to find your mortgage and then actually read it.

You have rights but you must know about those rights for them to do you any good.

You also have rights under the federal law RESPA.

There have been recent changes to the federal law RESPA make it much easier to deal with abusive mortgage companies.

Many of the bad practices they were doing can be stopped now with RESPA.

The best way to find out is to watch our video and download your sample RESPA letters that you can use with your mortgage company.

You can also watch a free video series on stopping foreclosures at www.ForeclosureDVD.com.

All of these resources are free and the purpose is to help you understand your rights and to encourage you to take action.

If we don’t know our rights or we won’t take action, there is not much hope in saving our home.

Unfortunately some folks don’t want to do anything to stop a foreclosure.

I can’t help those folks.

But I am confident you would not still be reading this is you felt that way so if you are willing to learn and take action, get in touch with us or watch our free videos at www.RESPAVideo.com or www.ForeclosureDVD.com.
